Grammar and Composition
​Tuition is $45 per four week period

Find your voice and learn to write essays with confidence.  This course will cover the basic structure of the five paragraph personal essay. This is a Writer's Lab style course, where students will have an opportunity to turn in a rough draft of each assignment a week before the final draft is due.  This allows ample time for a dialogue between teacher and each student about how to polish and improve a piece of writing.  We will also walk through examples of student writing from prewrite through final draft, so that students can see how the process of good writing progresses and have thoughtful class discussions about what makes good writing.   We will cover informative and persuasive writing as well as how to write a good story, whether true or fictional.  Students will also have grammar lessons to help prevent some of the most common grammar and mechanical mistakes.

• The learning resource materials for this year's course will be provided online.  It will be helpful to have a subscription to the wonderful online library at getepic.com (computers) or the Epic app (ipads), but this is not a requirement.  ​
